How much does it cost?
This is the most frequently asked question, but it is not the most important one.
Comparing the prices of different electrologists is like comparing apples to oranges. Here are questions to consider:
How much experience does the electrologist have? Barbara has been in practice since 1980 having trained under Wilma George and working with her for 9.5 years. Barbara is a founding member of the Kansas Association of Professional Electrologists (KAPE). She has been an officer in KAPE and the American Electrology Association (AEA) and has provided continuing education for many professional electrolysis associations throughout the United States and Japan.
How often does the electrologist receive continuing education? Barbara was originally certified through the Society of Clinical and Medical Electrologists (currently called SCMHR) attends every KAPE and AEA meeting to maintain her current credentials of Certified Professional Electrologist.
How often does the electrologist update equipment? Barbara updates her epilator, lighting and magnification about every 5 years.
What type of sterilization is used? Barbara was the first electrologist in Topeka to use pre-sterilized probes and to wear medical gloves. She uses an FDA approved sterilizer for in-office sterilization of other small instruments and tests the sterilizer according to state law.
The fact that Barbara attends continuing education, has over 40 years of experience, and uses state-of-the-art equipment are factors that will affect your results. The experience and modern equipment will also decrease the number of treatments needed and decrease the overall cost of your treatments.
